100% ring-spun cotton at 5.3 oz, classic cut, true to size. Ring-spun means the cotton is combed and twisted before it is knit, which is where the smoother hand comes from—it is the difference between a shirt that gets worn and one that gets used for washing the truck.

What color is pigment clay?
An earthy, muted tan with warm brown undertones—closer to dry ground than to orange. Because it is pigment dyed, the exact shade varies slightly between garments and continues to soften with wear.
Why does the color vary between shirts?
Pigment dye bonds to the surface of the fiber instead of soaking into it. That produces the faded, vintage look and a small amount of natural variation from piece to piece. Mathews notes this on the spec sheet—it is a characteristic of the process, not a defect. Wash cold and inside out to slow the fade.
Does the Mathews Elk Tee run true to size?
Yes. Mathews specifies a classic cut that runs true to size, so order your normal tee size.
Will the Mathews Elk Tee shrink?
Some. This is 100% cotton with no polyester to stabilize it, so expect modest shrinkage on the first wash, mostly in length. Wash cold and tumble dry low, or hang dry, to keep it minimal.
Is this the same shirt as the Mathews Whitetail Tee?
Same blank, different graphic and color. Both run 100% ring-spun cotton at 5.3 oz in a classic, true-to-size cut. The Whitetail Tee comes in pigment black with a whitetail graphic; the Elk Tee is pigment clay. If one fits you, the other will too.
