Description
Everything you need to hunt out of a saddle, in one box. The Method 3 saddle, a 10mm Vapor Line tether, a 10mm Vapor Line lineman belt, and a Method dump pouch. Buy those pieces separately and you are past $400 before the pouch—the kit puts all four together at $429.99.
That matters more than the savings. The hard part of getting into saddle hunting is not the saddle, it is knowing which tether length, which rope diameter, which pouch, and whether the pieces you picked actually work together. This kit removes that problem. It is Latitude's own system, matched by the people who built it.
WHAT'S IN THE KIT
- Method 3 saddle — Latitude's third-generation two-panel saddle, which also runs as a single-panel setup
- 10mm Vapor Line tether — what you hang from once you are at hunting height
- 10mm Vapor Line lineman belt — keeps you attached to the tree during the climb
- Tactical dump pouch (Large) — keeps your hardware where you can reach it
AVAILABLE IN REGULAR AND XL
Latitude made the Method 3 XL exclusive to retail dealers for 2026—you cannot order one directly from them. We stock the kit in both Regular, for waists up to 37 inches, and X-Large, for 37 inches and up. If you have been trying to find a Method 3 in XL, this is where it lives.
THE SADDLE
The Method 3 replaced the clips, snaps and straps of earlier generations with a continuous magnetic strip, so moving between transport and hunt mode is one motion instead of lining up individual magnets in the dark. A drawstring system handles panel deployment and holds your spread between climbs—set it once and it stays set. The same drawstrings carry climbing sticks up the tree.
Plush, breathable, water-resistant padding runs through the panels, and a uniform panel structure spreads weight evenly instead of concentrating it. The practical result is no hip pinch on an all-day sit. The belt is rope rather than a metal buckle, so it holds tension across a long hike and stays silent. Removable leg straps with concealed connection points keep metal off metal for hybrid setups.
THE ROPES
Both ropes are 10mm Vapor Line—a UHMWPE core that is pound for pound stronger than steel and will not absorb water, inside a tightly woven 100% polyester sheath that handles UV and abrasion and dries fast after a wet morning. Each arrives rigged with a prusik for one-handed operation, and the 10mm runs a Ropeman 1 or a Kong Duck if you want to add a mechanical ascender.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this everything I need to start saddle hunting?
Almost. The kit covers the saddle, tether, lineman belt and dump pouch—the pieces that connect you to the tree. You still need a platform to stand on and a way up the tree, either climbing sticks or a one-stick setup. Those are the two purchases to plan for next.
Can I get the Method 3 in XL?
Yes, through this kit. Latitude restricted the XL to retail dealers for 2026, so it is not available direct from them—the kit is how you get one. Order the X-Large if your waist measures 37 inches or more.
Which size should I order?
Measure your waist rather than going by height or body weight. Regular covers up to 37 inches, X-Large covers 37 and up. If you land right at 37, think about your late-season layering—a heavy insulation system adds real inches at the belt line, and a saddle belt at the very top of its range is uncomfortable on a long hang.
Why 10mm rope instead of 7mm or 8mm?
The 10mm puts the most rope in your hand, which matters when it is cold, you are gloved up, and you are tending a hitch one-handed at height. More sheath material also means more to wear through against bark. All Vapor Line diameters carry the same 300-pound safe working load, so this is a handling and durability choice, not a strength one.
Is buying the kit cheaper than buying the pieces separately?
Yes. The 10mm tether and 10mm lineman belt alone run over $100 combined, and the Method 3 saddle is $299.99 on its own. The kit adds the dump pouch on top of that and still comes in at $429.99.
Can I run the Method 3 as a single-panel saddle?
Yes. It is the first Latitude saddle built to work properly either way—two panels when you want the adjustability and load spread, one when you want less to manage. You are not locked into that decision when you buy.
