Latitude Outdoors Method 3 Saddle
Model: SK-M3-REG-MOB
Description
Latitude launched the first true two-panel saddle five years ago with the original Method, and has rebuilt it twice since on feedback from hunters who live in these things. The Method 3 is the third generation, and the headline is adaptability—this is the first saddle designed to genuinely work as either a two-panel or a single-panel rig depending on what the sit calls for. Assembled in the USA.
COLORWAYS
Available in Mossy Oak Bottomland and Ranger Green. Bottomland is Mossy Oak's original pattern, introduced in 1986—bark, mud and shadow rather than leaves, which is why it still works in hardwoods after leaf drop. Ranger Green is the new solid-tone option for hunters who prefer a muted, non-patterned finish.
Ranger Green photography coming soon; the saddle is identical to the Bottomland shown apart from the finish.
THE MAGNETIC PANEL SYSTEM
The clips, snaps and straps are gone. A continuous magnetic strip runs the panel connection, so moving between transport mode and hunt mode is one smooth motion instead of lining up individual magnets in the dark. If you have used a Method 2, this is the change you will notice first.
A new drawstring system handles panel deployment and spread. Once you dial your panel distance, it stays dialed—you are not resetting it every time you climb. The same drawstrings double as a way to carry climbing sticks up the tree, which is the kind of detail that only shows up after a few thousand hunters tell you what they actually do with their gear.
COMFORT AND FIT
Plush, breathable, water-resistant padding through the panels, and a uniform panel structure that spreads weight evenly rather than concentrating it. The practical result is no hip pinch on an all-day sit, which is the failure point that ends most long hangs before the deer show up.
The belt is rope, not a metal buckle. It stays where you set it across a long hike instead of creeping loose, and it does it silently. Removable leg straps and concealed connection points keep metal off metal—worth having if you run a hybrid setup.
The Butter Bridge is included. It pairs Amsteel's ultralight strength with rope-style adjustability, wrapped in the same Vapor Line sheath Latitude uses on their tethers and lineman belts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will the Regular Method 3 fit me?
Go by waist measurement, not height or body weight. The Regular is built for waists up to 37 inches. If you measure close to that, factor in what you will be wearing underneath—a heavy late-season layering system adds real inches at the belt line, and a saddle belt sitting at the very top of its range is not comfortable on an all-day hang. Over 37 inches, you need the XL—and we stock that size in the Method 3 Saddle Starter Kit. Latitude made the XL dealer-exclusive for 2026, so the kit is the way to get one.
What is the difference between a two-panel and a single-panel saddle?
Two panels wrap you in two separate sections of material, which spreads load and lets you adjust the gap between them for how you like to sit and lean. Single-panel saddles use one continuous piece—simpler, less to manage, less adjustable. The Method 3 is the first saddle built to do both well, so you are not locked into that choice at purchase.
What changed from the Method 2?
Panel management, mostly. The Method 2 used clips, snaps and straps with individual magnets you had to line up. The Method 3 replaces all of it with a continuous magnetic strip and a drawstring system that holds your panel spread between climbs. Padding and panel structure were also reworked to distribute weight more evenly.
Does the Method 3 come with a bridge?
Yes. The Butter Bridge is included—an Amsteel core for strength at very low weight, sheathed in Vapor Line for the adjustability and abrasion resistance of a rope bridge.
What else do I need to hunt out of it?
The saddle is one part of the system. You also need a tether to hang from at height, a lineman belt to keep you attached during the climb, a platform, and a way up the tree—climbing sticks or a one-stick setup.
Why a rope belt instead of a buckle?
Two reasons, both practical. A rope belt holds tension across a long hike where a metal buckle can work loose, and it does not clink against anything. Metal-on-metal noise at the wrong moment costs you the hunt.
